Ford’s ECOnetic technology has been breathed across the range giving us a car in each class which has class leading economy and completely exempt from road tax.

We have been running both ECOnetic Focus’ and Fiesta’s on our hire fleet and these cars always cause a stir with whoever rents them… the amount of fuel they don’t use is quite striking, even when compared to a non-ECOnetic diesel you still notice a difference.

What is so good about these cars is that they do not compromise on performance to get increased economy. By making the car lighter, using special low friction oil and low resistance road tyres both the Fiesta and Focus achieve lower than 100g/km making them both exempt from road tax, yes that is FREE to tax!! Forever!!

The official Ford mpg figures are 76.3mpg for the Fiesta and 74.2 for the Focus, both on combined cycle. The Focus is now equipped with Auto start-stop technology which is what gives it the increased economy and the lower emissions. It is incredible but we are talking about a 5door family car which will do over 70mpg and costs nothing to tax!!
