The new Ford Focus follows the launch of the hugely acclaimed New C-Max and C-Max Grande… using the same class leading levels of quality, reliability and drivability the New Focus carries on it’s legacy of being the best car in it’s class… since it was first launched in 1997 the Focus has out sold every other car in it’s class.
The new model line-up includes a raft of new engines both petrol and diesel, the later including Stop Start technology… The main emphasis on these new engines is all about the environment, performance and efficiency were the now legendry TDCi with it’s outstanding in-gear performance has lead to Ford developing a matching petrol technology called Ecoboost, were peak power is achieved at very low revs, instant turbo boost, over-boost and intelligent fuelling make everyone an efficient driver.
The model line up remains fairly unchanged with the lead in model being the Edge model, followed by Zetec, then Titanium and topped off by a Titanium X. We have been promised an ST later this year but no news on an RS yet… although with Ford now putting their rallying eggs into the Fiesta World Rally car I bet there’ll be a Fiesta RS before we get a new Focus one.
 Well, now the more important info… what’s it like to drive? After the original Focus ended it’s life being slated for being too noisy and too raw, then the MK2 got slated for being too refined and losing the rawness of the MK1! The MK3 has hopefully got the blend just right with a highly premium feel inside and a sharp rewarding response to both the engine and the steering wheel… the on the road experience is stunning another Ford master class in driving dynamics and while I could sit here all day long, gushing about how good the car is, until you come down and drive it you’ll never know….
